Do you have any recommendations for professional-grade surveillance equipment?

If you don’t want to go all out with a super expensive system, check out Reolink. You can get decent cameras and a network video recorder (NVR) that’s PoE-powered. If you want to step up a bit, Dahua makes more durable cameras. Just remember, you’ll need to run Ethernet cables for PoE systems.
@Kelly
Thanks for the tip! Are you familiar with UniFi products? I’ve heard they’re a good option for prosumer-grade setups.
@Kelly
I went with an open Honeywell system. You can switch monitoring services easily, and GeoArm hasn’t raised prices on me in years.

Ring doesn’t need to rely on WiFi. They have hardwired options if you buy the right ones.

Ring told me directly that all their devices, even hardwired ones, need a solid WiFi connection to work properly. Without WiFi, their devices don’t function fully.
@Mackenzie
That’s only for the WiFi versions. Ring sells PoE (Power over Ethernet) versions that don’t need WiFi at all.

I’m pretty sure you’re mistaken. Even the hardwired versions I had required WiFi. Call Ring and they’ll tell you the same thing.

Switch to Eufy. No monthly fees and local storage. They have so many products now, including doorbells that can be powered by existing wiring.
I’ve got over 10 Ring devices, but I won’t be renewing. Time to look for alternatives. I guess my local Goodwill will get a bunch of cameras next year.
Don’t rely on just a Ring doorbell for security. Make sure you’ve got good locks and another camera with local storage. Motion lights help too. Ring fails a lot, so it’s good to have backups.

We have solid locks and bolts. I’m looking into Eufy now since Ring has been unreliable.
Any security system based on WiFi is trash. It’s too easy to jam the signal and disable the whole system.
Even at $20 a month, Ring is still cheaper than most monitoring services unless you’re tech-savvy enough to install and program a professional system like Honeywell or Bosch. Plus, with Ring, you get unlimited camera support.
@Cameron
I don’t see how they can justify the price with their service. Their monitoring is sketchy. When someone tried to break in through our back door, we got an automated call instead of a live person.
@Cameron
I’d switch to Eufy in a heartbeat. Check out this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/EufyCam/comments/15k7vp0/anyone_switch_from_ring_to_eufy_and_are_happy/

Eufy is just cameras though, not a full alarm system.
I already paid for the year, but after that, I’m switching.
