Title is somewhat self explanatory. I live in a uniquely designed duplex and recently experienced a security issue, which has made it necessary for me to change my locks and add a door where there wasn’t one before. I’m also in need of a camera to monitor the top of my stairs inside my home. However, I don’t have Wi-Fi since I don’t use it for anything else. Are there cameras available that don’t require Wi-Fi? I’ll consider getting internet if it’s absolutely necessary, but I’d prefer to avoid it.
I have been in the same boat looking for security cameras that don’t rely on WiFi. I found a good option with local storage, look into models with SD card slots. Some cameras use local NVR (Network Video Recorder) systems, which can record everything without the need for an internet connection. A solid option is the Reolink Argus series; they work well and have rechargeable batteries. Just be sure you have a solid plan for placing the NVR in a secure spot, so your footage is safe
I am a big fan of the good old-fashioned wired cameras. They connect directly to a DVR (Digital Video Recorder), and you don’t have to worry about WiFi at all. It’s a bit more work with the wiring, but once it’s set up, it’s rock solid. I’ve got a Swann system in my house, and it’s been going strong for years. Plus, no hacking worries since it’s all offline!
I live off the grid and have been using battery-powered cameras with local storage. The Blink Outdoor camera system has been reliable for me. It’s not technically an indoor camera, but I’ve used it indoors, and it works great. It records onto a USB flash drive connected to the Blink Sync Module, so I don’t need WiFi. Just remember to check the batteries regularly
If you are worried about privacy and want something that doesn’t connect to the internet at all, I suggest going with analog cameras that use coaxial cables. They are a bit old school but extremely reliable. I set up a Lorex system for my parents, and they love it. Everything is recorded on a DVR, and there’s zero chance of anyone hacking into it because it’s not connected to the internet.
I have been researching this topic for a while, and it’s surprising how many options are available if you don’t want to use WiFi. One thing to consider is a camera with a built-in SD card that overwrites itself after it fills up. No internet, no problem! The Wyze Cam v3 has this feature, and while it’s WiFi-capable, you can use it entirely without connecting it to the internet. Just pop in a 128GB SD card, and you’re good to go.
Thanks .But one question though how can i get one?
Thanks for the suggestion but this actually looks a load of work and I’m kinda lazy bunny
I actaully think this is a great idea
But how many SD cards do you think i need
Great. You just solved my problem Thanks
