You are using a paintball gun for home defense?

That’s not home defense for anything more than small animals. It could make things worse if there’s a home intruder.
Either get a real weapon (and get proper training) and use it within the law, or focus on defense and escape options.
Get a real weapon (and get proper training)
OP is in California, so it’s tough, but not impossible.

It’s not that difficult. Just a 10-day wait and a simple written test that’s easy to pass unless you really try to fail.
@Moe
That’s not what I asked. If you’re not going to answer the question, move on.

The good and bad thing about this forum (and a country that supports free speech) is you get all sorts of responses. Some may help other users as well.
Engaging with posts also helps them get more visibility, which is kind of like the saying ‘any publicity is good publicity.’
Since you posted this in a home defense forum, don’t be surprised if people suggest things related to home defense. A paintball gun isn’t really a reliable choice for defending your home.
You should return it. This isn’t a proper home defense tool. You’d be better off with some bear spray.

Lmao, this thing is like a Byrna; it shoots pepper balls that explode with OC on impact. Pepper plus a welt. If you’re not going to answer the question, then don’t bother replying. This post is meant for people who own the same launcher, not someone who thinks everyone in the US lives in Texas and can just meet someone on Craigslist and do a private sale. Almost everywhere in my city bans guns, even with a CCW.
And yes, this is marketed for home defense, so I think it has a place in this forum.
@Zorion
Pepper balls aren’t that effective. They need to hit eyes or mucus membranes for full effect, and the small pepper ball payload doesn’t really spread on impact.
My response is also meant for others who might see this post to warn them off from buying such devices.
Marketing can be misleading, as they’re just trying to sell their product.
Edit for grammar.
Hope you have a better day, OP.
