Do you stick with your CCW for home defense or use something else?

@Sky
For kids, you might consider a trigger guard lock or a hard gun case with a lock. Store it out of reach or in a closet. Accessibility is key, though, so think about how quickly you can get to it.

I keep an AR-15 by the bed.

This is the way.

Mine is in the closet. If I can get to it, great. If not, I’m grabbing the pistol by my bed.

Layers of security are important. I’ve got a fenced yard, reinforced doors, dogs, and bars on windows. They’d have to be ghosts to sneak in.

I use my P365X with an optic, weapon-mounted light, and extended mags for home defense. Highly recommend adding a light and optic if you haven’t already.

Mine is set up with a Specter comp and EPS Carry. I thought about adding a WML but figured it might be better to just get a full-size gun for home defense.

I carry a Glock 19 and use it for home defense too. It simplifies training because you get really good at one platform instead of spreading yourself thin.

That’s a solid approach.

I could stick with SIG and maybe get a P320. Thoughts?

SIGs are fine. I’ve put thousands of rounds through my P365X with no issues.

They rust, have QC issues, and the plastic frames can crack. Glock all the way.

No issues with mine. Glock has its flaws too. Let’s not pretend any gun is perfect.

Skip the pistol and get a 12-gauge Mossberg 590 or Remington 870. Load it with 00 buckshot, and you’ve got the best home defense setup out there.

If you’re waiting for a tax return to buy a gun, maybe rethink your finances.

This is just fun money, not a necessity. I’m good financially, no worries.

A small refund isn’t a big deal. If someone wants to use it for a gun, why not? Let people enjoy things.
