Anyone else experiencing an immediate “network error” message when trying to log in to the Amcrest app or access anything? Curious if it’s just me or a widespread issue.
Update: I called Amcrest support. They said they’re aware of the outage but don’t know the cause yet and don’t have an ETA for a fix. They asked me to fill out this form to provide additional info: https://amcrest.com/smarthomesupport. Maybe if more people fill it out, it’ll speed things up?
@Ash
I submitted a ticket too. Hoping this gets resolved soon.
@Ash
Same here. Submitted the form. Let’s hope this helps.
I’ve used Amcrest for nearly five years without issues, so this is frustrating—especially during the holidays. I’m on vacation with no visibility of my home right now. Really hoping they fix this soon.
Same here. It’s been down for the past 24 hours. Oddly enough, I can still pull up RTSP streams to my cameras on my home network.
Central California here. I’m having the same issue. The app says ‘network error,’ but I still get motion alerts on my Google Pixel. The doorbell rings my phone, but I can’t answer. Strangely, everything works fine on my iPad. Could it be an Android issue?
@Fitz
I logged out, and now I can’t log back in. Same network error message.
California here too. I wonder if it’s Android vs. Apple. I’m using an S23 and have issues, but my wife’s iPhone works fine.

Could be. My wife and I both use Android, and neither of us can access the app.

Confirmed. My Android devices don’t work, but my Apple phone does. However, adding a device using iPhone still shows a network failure.
Same problem, NJ to FL.
Same issue in Virginia. I reported it two days ago and got the same response: they’re aware but no ETA for a fix.
Worst time of year for this. Starting to lose trust in Amcrest.

Why would any company push a software update right before a major holiday? Mature companies release updates midweek with fallback plans and support staff ready in case something goes wrong.
Does anyone know the resolution for this issue? I still get notifications but can’t log in.
I called support. They asked for the model and serial numbers of my devices and the phone model I’m using. Hopefully, they’re gathering data to figure this out.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to reflash these cameras for local access only, without relying on the cloud?
Same issue here in Minnesota. Another person I know with Amcrest confirmed they’re also getting the network error.

Yep, I’m in Minnesota too. It’s been down for 48 hours.
