There was a hit and run accident. Can someone figure out the license plate on the black Chevy turning left next to the red car?

Sorry, but you’re not going to be able to read a license plate with this video quality. All that ‘enhance’ stuff you see in movies doesn’t actually work.

I’ve got two cameras set up specifically for reading license plates. This kind of footage isn’t made for that. It’s mostly for counting cars and adjusting traffic lights, nothing more.
Where did you get this footage? Is it public or something?
Am I looking in the wrong spot? I can’t see an accident here. Maybe you could request a longer recording and figure out if the car has a pattern, like passing by at the same time every day. AI could even help go through that kind of data. Maybe check between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM, or just Wednesdays. People are creatures of habit.
@Tai
I don’t see an accident either. Where exactly are we supposed to look?
Just say the magic words… enhance!
This doesn’t seem related to home defense, but does the video look clearer on your computer? The forum compresses videos, and you’re not going to get much detail from this version.
You might have better luck at a forum like r/streetdefense.
I actually paid the city for a copy of the footage.

This is just a traffic camera. It’s made to count cars and adjust lights, not read license plates. Trying to pull details off a compressed video uploaded here isn’t going to work. Maybe try r/dashcam or contact the authorities directly.
