One of my favorite things about having cameras around is capturing little moments like this with the wildlife near my place. Thought I’d share!
I was half expecting the skunk to spray the raccoon, honestly!
I’ve got my own odd couple showing up—a skunk and a porcupine who somehow always arrive at the same time at my feeding area. It’s happened several times. I’m starting to think of them as the Odd Couple—Oscar (the porcupine) and Felix (the skunk)!
That raccoon is a chunky one!
Also, just a heads-up: feeding wildlife like that can be harmful for them in the long run.

Check out this elderly guy feeding raccoons: https://www.reddit.com/r/aww/comments/13tjc39/an_elderly_man_feeds_25_super_hungry_raccoons/
@Reagan
But do you think that’s really good for them? It doesn’t look like natural behavior to me.

Maybe you should tell him that too.

Others have already commented on it. Just because he does it doesn’t mean it’s good for them or justifies doing the same.
@Ari
You could always just skip commenting if it bothers you that much.

I had a 25-pound ‘trash panda’ visit last month… didn’t stay long.
Great capture! What camera do you use?

This was with a basic Defender 4K cam that came with the system I bought back in 2021. Haven’t felt the need to upgrade it yet.
What type of camera did you use to capture this video? Is it a trail cam like this? https://www.camerasurveillance.net/87-camera-de-surveillance-autonome-exterieur.html The quality looks great; is it 4K?
I had an old container of dog food that’s expired, so I’ve been putting it out for the wildlife to use it up. We’ve had a family of raccoons visiting several times each night, plus there’s a watering hole about 10 feet away. This little skunk recently started showing up too. In this video, the raccoon only ran off because I turned on an outside light. Makes me wonder if the skunk would’ve gone for a little tussle if I hadn’t!
@Reagan
Just wait until you’re out of food, and they keep coming back looking for more. I bet they won’t just leave without getting what they came for

Haha, thanks, I’ll keep that in mind!
@Reagan
Baiting animals and hoping for a fight sounds kinda cruel.

That’s a big stretch, I was just being sarcastic.

> I wish I hadn’t because I wonder if the skunk would’ve resorted to violence!
You literally said it though.
@Micah
Honestly, that was just a joke. Ever heard of cute animals choosing violence?
