Hey everyone, last night around midnight, a car parked in front of a house across from mine in a cul-de-sac and started flashing their brights into the window of the house. At first, they honked their horn a few times which got my attention, but for the next hour, they just kept flashing their brights at the window. They stayed in the same spot, then would move the car to change the direction of the headlights at the house. They even turned off their car and just sat there for a few minutes at one point. They pulled onto the yard at one point and flashed their brights. Eventually, a man got out of the car and used his phone flashlight to check the front yard, the car in the driveway, the front porch, and windows. After a while, he got back in the car, stayed there for some time, and then drove away to a parking lot behind the house. Does anyone have any idea what might have been going on? I was thinking, if they were trying to get someone’s attention inside, why not just knock on the door?
Sounds like it could have been a process server trying to get someone to come outside. They might have already tried other ways to contact the homeowner and are using different tactics to get their attention.
Did you ever make it clear that you were watching them? Just curious if you showed that you saw what was going on.

No, I was being discreet about it. I was peeking through the blinds, and whenever they moved the car and pointed the headlights at my house, I would lower the blind I was using to watch.
Why not grab a super bright flashlight and shine it back at them? That’ll likely make them leave quickly.

Or they might just turn their focus on you instead.

In that case, you’d just have to be ready to deal with it. Whatever they’re up to already seems shady, so it might be good to take action.

I’ve got a big flashlight. It’s helped me get rid of a few people who were acting weird. It works pretty well.
I would’ve called the cops. Do you have a camera that might have caught their license plate?
