I have some pricey outdoor holiday decorations, and thefts have been happening around here. What tracker would you recommend? I thought about using Apple AirTag, but I read it’s not great for theft since it makes noise or alerts the person being tracked.
You can use an AirTag with the speaker removed. It won’t warn the person right away—it takes at least 15 minutes but could take hours. Plus, Apple devices automatically work with the tracking system, unlike other cheap trackers.

But don’t AirTags alert anyone with an iPhone that there’s a tracker following them?

True, but the alert isn’t instant—it takes a while before it shows up.

Thanks, I found a video showing how to take the speaker out. I’ll try it on the one I already have.
Tile trackers have an Anti-Theft Mode that hides them from being scanned by Tile users or other apps.

That sounds like stalker mode to me.
What about people who don’t have iPhones?
Maybe bury something in your yard to protect them? Just kidding. /s
So what’s the plan—track your stolen inflatable Santa to some sketchy house and expect the cops to care?

What’s with the attitude? It’s my stuff, and I have the right to protect it.
